  1. 050.2 - Burner, Alcohol

Alcohol burner, or spirit lamp is a piece of labratory equipment used to produce an open flame. The cap would be used to snuff out the flame. It was not as hot a flame as a bunsen burner, but could be used in a lab without access to natural gas needed for bunsen burners.
